Dr. Shandi is a family chiropractor from Spruce Grove, AB. She has been a part of the community of St. Albert since she finished grad school. Her treatments go beyond the normal chiropractic adjustments as she uses muscle work and exercises to help patients achieve lasting results and prevent further injury.

Dr. Shandi’s interest in women’s health and children has been a lifelong passion. Her desire to serve led her to two missions to Zambia where she worked at an orphanage and helped at a weekly feeding program for underweight children. It also took her to Peru to work as a chiropractic intern at a children’s centre in one of the shanty towns surrounding Lima.

Dr. Shandi’s first research experience was in perinatal health when she was just 17. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from The King’s University College, where her focus was in research. It was then that Dr. Shandi’s travel bug got restless and took her to Portland, Oregon. There she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Human biology followed by her chiropractic degree, all at the University of Western States. While there, she held the position of president of the Pediatric Club for two years. In early 2014, she was elected as a representative on the executive board of the American Chiropractic Association’s Pediatrics Council, a national chiropractic council focused on increasing awareness for pediatric treatment. Her university education wrapped up with her spending the last 7 months of her internship at a rehab based clinic where she treated athletes and worked closely with a cross fit gym. She truly enjoys finding ways to increase functional movement and getting patients back into their activities.

When not adding degrees to her resume, Dr. Shandi can be found downhill skiing, scuba diving, or captaining her slo-pitch team. She is a nerd at heart with a special love of Harry Potter, which she prefers to read while cuddling with her cat, Figaro.

Dr. Shandi is trained in Craniosacral Technique, Webster Technique, Activator Method, ART, and recently became a registered Rocktape provider. She is currently working her way through a Diplomate in Pediatrics. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Shandi believes that her education is never complete; she is always open to new information to expand her knowledge in order to serve future patients the best that she can.
